ONYEKA NWELUE ACCIDENT
Nigerian controversial filmmaker and author, Onyeka Nwelue may not walk again after being involved in a ghastly motor accident, on the 1st of February, 2018 in Abuja, a night after his 30th birthday.
Nwelue who lunched a book, The Beginning of Everything Colourful to commemorate his 30th birthday was reportedly rushed to Asokoro District Hospital, where scans and x-rays were conducted.
A few days later, well-wishers were able to fly him to Lerotong Hospital in Gaunteng Province in South Africa, where more x-rays were done to reveal that his left leg has dislocated from his hip.
Accoding to a sympathizer’s Facebook post, a couple of hours ago, “Onyeka Nwelue won’t be able to walk if help does not come fast”.
The film maker and professor is said to have a medical history at Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, where a surgery will be done to get him walk again.
He needs N9.8 million for this corrective surgery.
Onyeka Nwelue is a Nigerian cultural entrepreneur, filmmaker, professor and author who is best known for his novel The Abyssinian Boy, which was published when he was 21.
