Nigeria’s biggest political prostitute has now been unmasked; he is no other than, billionaire Ifeanyi Ubah. Not only is he popularly known for jumping from political party to the other, he also occupies a prominent position on the list of overdraft billionaires in Nigeria. Follow us through this expose, carefully compiled by e-NIGERIA! General Editor, Starrys Obazei
In 2013, Ifeanyi Ubah began test-running Nigeria’s political waters as a neophyte or newbie.
He pitched his tent with the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and having measured his political weight by means of his financial standard, he did not start with state House of Assembly election.
He began eyeing Anambra Government House. He wanted to become Anambra State governor. And when he lost out in the PDP governorship primary, which activity he termed undemocratic (without internal democracy), he readily stormed out to a waiting party, Labour Party.
And in the election, he came fourth in the governorship contest.
He prepared himself for 2015 for enthroning former President Goodluck Jonathan. He formed a national group of campaigners for the then president, who also allegedly churned out billions to secure his return to power.
Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria, TAN, quickly became relevant and most bookmakers though did consider Buhari a strong contender in Tinubu’s new mega party, but they actually gave the presidential victory to Jonathan because of his power of incumbency and other advantages.
As TAN campaigns continued, Ubah’s ground was well wetted with much money and if Jonathan had won Ubah’s relevance would have soared, bringing an ocean of currencies to his vault.
However the turnout was the opposite, Jonathan lost and since 2015, Ubah went back to his drawing board.
Instead of eyeing the governorship seat in Anambra, he humbled himself and opted for the Senate. But which party?
Traditionally, Anambra belongs to All Progressives Grand Alliance and he joined the party. But the contenders for the Senate were all well-grounded and he lost to late Ikemba of Nnewi’s widow, Bianca Ojukwu.
As a prostitute on a smooth sail, he was quickly at the shores of Young People’s Party, YPP.
No bookmaker could have given it to him. He could not have even given it to himself but on the 24th of February 2019, Ifeanyi Ubah was declared winner of the Anambra South Senatorial election under the platform of the Young Progressives Party, YPP.
Ubah’s first political base was the PDP, but he quickly left for Labour Party and then APGA; from there he went to YPP, and now his victory song is resonating around Nigeria.
In real life some women prostitute vastly and yet remain poor, some do and run into fortune too. In Ubah’s case he ran from party to party and finally landed at an unlikely source of success and surprisingly it is real, he has found fortune in YPP.
But he is not done yet with political prostitution as it has spilled out in the media earlier today (Tuesday) that he had also dumped YPP for APC.
Whether he had joined APC or not, he is logically a secret APC member.
During the governorship election campaign in Lagos, he personally led some hundreds of Igbo members of Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria to Lagos to campaign for Babajide Sanwo-Olu of APC and according to e-NIGERIA! earlier expose, Ubah was handsomely rewarded monetarily by the APC for ‘a job well done’.
