A popular comedian and pioneer of stand-up comedy on radio in Nigeria; Iruvwe Okeremute famously known as De Don has been absent from the scene for some time now.
The popular on air personality and actor who anchors the radio show Comedy Happy Hour with De Don on Rainbow 94.1fm has not been heard on radio or sighted for over a month now.
Known for his commitment and attachment to the radio show, De Don’s sudden disappearance from the scene is now beginning to generate some measure of concern.
Again, of more worrisome concern, is the brewing gist about town where some sources are claiming that some uniformed men secretly whisked the comedian turned activist away during his last event in December.
Ever since, nothing has been heard from him; he hasn’t been seen at any public function, including the ones he was allegedly paid to perform.
This reporter tried reaching out to some of De Don’s associates during the week and they claim to not be in the know of his whereabouts since he was arrested by security agents. They also disclosed that no one has been able to reach him on phone since.
Meanwhile some of our sources are now saying that De Don is on the wanted list of Nigeria’s Secret Police (SSS) over his planned protest against insecurity in the country.
This is a developing story, we are working on more details.
